But, ah, after a while, we separated. I ended up in the basement which had flooded. Fei Du was there, but I think we did something-- I jumped to something else. A memory, or ... I don't know. I was in a lake. And small again, like I used to be.

Once I left, however, I managed to swim free [ hehe ] and came back to the flooded basement, and I don't know what had happened while I was gone, but I crawled out of the water and a, I don't mean this in a diminishing way, crazed woman was there, screamed at me and called me a horrible thing, and then began to choke Fei Du for reasons that are a mystery to me.
A little rowdy indeed. Well, I tackled her and she-- [ gestures to all the scratches ] ... I didn't want, ah, drown her. That felt a little wrong. She was upset, I think. Her child was missing.
We ended up running, locking her in the basement. And headed to the barn off the main house where they keep the "car." There was a bunch of nonsense, a huge fight, we hit a metaphorical monsterous father with the car, we hit the mother with the car, we hit me with the car, and then the wall of the barn. [garage.]
[that goes a little above her head. she knows cycles, but more the cycle where your mom teaches you to be obedient and polite no matter the situation, even if she's trying to kill you, because that's what her mom taught her. nothing to do with any of that.]
it's probably a different quality of sadness; she can empathize with that feeling, but she can't empathize with the feeling of being an adult and seeing a child suffering. but she does know what it feels like, to be experiencing something horrible and hoping an adult will help you and finding out there's no one. she thinks gerard must know that feeling, too.]
[ he does, though maybe he hasn't explained in detail the trials and tribulations of the lake by the castle, but it's also probably not too difficult to connect the dots. he had told her about his parents, a little bit. ]
I don't know. The last group said theirs was based on someone's memories. So ...
[ sure. can emotions be as precise as "feeling guilty for accidentally shutting a kid's dead body in the trunk of a car and then driving that car into a lake on a whoopsie" ]
[she doesn't know if she's supposed to; it's a bit different to accept a hug from him when she needs comfort. it feels presumptuous to think that he wants her to do the same.
